naturally printed scarf – madder red

CHF 120.00

This scarf was drawn by hand and screen-printed with mordants, then dyed with madder roots. It is inspired by the historic dyeing technique of chintz that has a long local history. It required 6 main steps, all handcrafted in Switzerland and in respect of living ecosystems.

Plant-based dyes are long-lasting and withstand machine washing. As with any item, whether naturally dyed or not, washing less frequently and avoiding direct exposure to sunlight will prolong its life.

Care: For optimal care, wash at a 40°C maximum with an enzyme free and bleaching free detergent which you can find in all stores. You can find more details about the technique and how to take care of it here

Composition: 100% cotton batiste woven in Switzerland. 50 x 50 cm
